Argentinian Matias Almeyda, the miracle man par excellence
This guy performed a miracle today, literally!
Before the La Liga match between Barcelona and Sevilla, Sevilla coach Matias Almeda came out and said that teams that just defend against Barcelona always lose, but teams that dare to take them on cause them big problems, and we are ready to play that way!
The result was that Sevilla played a great game against Barcelona, pressing hard and chasing the ball, preventing Barcelona from getting out of their own half in the first half.
The result was that Almeida played a great game against Barcelona,
putting intense pressure on them and preventing Barcelona from leaving their half of the field in the first half.
He scored two goals and Barcelona won 4-0 in a historic result not seen since the 1950s!
What is truly impressive is that Medina began coaching in 2012 and took River Plate to the first division.
He then took Banfield to the first division as well,
and then took the Mexican club Chivas, which was relegated,
and won the league, the cup, and the CONCACAF Champions League with them!
This year, he took over Sevilla, which had been relegated last year and lost 4-0 to Barcelona last season.
He turned the team around 180 degrees and beat Barcelona 4-0 today, taking them to sixth place in La Liga!
