A game of musical chairs between Liverpool and Newcastle
It’s a game of musical chairs between Liverpool and Newcastle
Newcastle had Alexander Isaacs and Callum Wilson,
and they wanted to replace Isaacs with another striker.
so they turned to Eintracht Frankfurt to negotiate for French striker Hugo Akitici.
Liverpool want Isaac from Newcastle, but Newcastle are said to be unwilling to sell.
So what does Liverpool do?
They let Isaac go, called Hugo Aketeki himself and agreed personal terms with him,
thus cutting off Newcastle’s access to him.
So, on the other hand. You let us have Isaac, we’ll let you have Atikitike,
or we’ll have Atikitike and you’ll have Isaac, but without a replacement.
Update: Liverpool have made an official offer to Frankfurt as well.
For the record, Akitiki is an excellent striker, fast, tall and good ball.
He was Marmoch’s attacking partner last season at Frankfurt and they were terrifying.
Whoever gets Ekitike isn’t a total loss, either.
